Meet Our Coaches

  • Coach Amanda is now in her second campaign as the Head Coach of the Danvers YMCA Dolfins. She has been with the program now for three years and during her time has also spent considerable time teaching future team members with the well-established Swimm with Timm Swim Lesson Program (our feeder program).

Amanda grew up a Kentucky native where she attended Transylvania University and swam for the Pioneers in Lexington, KY. She graduated as an 8x school record holder and was named her University's Athlete of the Year in 2013. After graduating she moved to the North Shore to pursue a career in the arts and continued sharing her passion for swimming by coaching age-group swimmers. Since 2014 she's coached at various club teams in the North Shore and Connecticut.

Her experience as an educator gives her an advantage in the coaching profession, and she has been an integral part of helping set the curriculum for a team whose philosophy is to focus mainly on technique at the younger levels of competitive swimming.

  • Coach Tommy is in his fourth year with both the Swimm with TImm lesson program and as an assistant coach with the Danvers YMCA Dolfins. Tommy came to Massachusetts from California where he was a successful High School coach and Summer League coach for seven years. Tommy is a huge favorite with kids and has a large role in both the Junior Academy and Academy groups. He also helps out with the dry land program which tries to get young swimmers involved in some basic land skills that will help them in this sport and others.
